They say solitude gives you good space,
good place, good rest, and a good mind.
But when I’m alone, my own thoughts stifle me
I’m not allowed to be, to breathe, to make sense
I’m without defence, when I’m alone by myself
They say solitude is absolutely definitely
necessary; you can’t conclude, you can’t decide
you’d have to lie when you’re around others.
But “others” – they are my air, my rays of light
so bright, so alive, my “others” keep me from sinking
into thinking about the demons that plague my dreams
They say you must live with solitude
But my life is valued only when I live without it
